Ayashi no CeresAyashi no Ceres (妖しのセレス, Ayashi no Seresu, or in English, Ceres, Celestial Legend) is a fantasy shōjo manga series by Yuu Watase, the creator of the popular series Fushigi Yuugi and Alice 19th. It was published by Shogakukan from 1996 to 2000 in the Shoujo Comic and collected in 14 tankobon volumes. The original Japanese title is Ayashi no Ceres - Tenkuu Otogizoushi (妖しのセレス - 天空御伽草子), which literally means "Bewitching Ceres - Heavenly Fairy Tale". The manga is published in North America by VIZ Media. In 1998, it won the Shogakukan Manga Award for shōjo. In 2000, the manga was adapted as a 24-episode anime television series by Studio Pierrot. Although the name of the title character comes from Ceres in Roman mythology, this story otherwise does not resemble Greco-Roman mythologies concerning Ceres.
